Overview

The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame was founded on the values of Family, Friends, Faith and Community. We remain committed to providing support and educational opportunities to students of all backgrounds. Since its establishment in 1977, the NIASHF has provided charitable support to a wide array of community based initiatives. To date, the organization has provided millions of dollars for scholarships and has directed funds to programs that have made a positive and direct impact on the lives of at-risk youth and athletes with disabilities. With the generous support of our members, corporate partners and the donations of our own community we are able to provide scholarships, grants and community outreach programs such as:

The Second Wind Program

A program created to support disabled athletes that participate in the Paralympics.

A Level Playing Field Program

Started in 2007, in conjunction with the Chicago Public School System, the NIASHF developed A Level Playing Field. An outreach program for inner-city kids, this program helps to embrace the diversity within sports while educating students of the rich cultural history behind legendary athletes.
